I had a bit of a weird dream last night...I was dreaming about men in space suits! I guess we call these guys Astronauts. I really don't remember much about the dream itself, as far as what happened. But, in this particular dream, the Lord was showing me that the suit they wear can be known as a "salvation suit." In order for them to be prepared for the type of work they have to do and the type of atmosphere in which they inhabit, they have to be prepared or "suited" to that condition.
The Lord was relating [to me] how the space suit (God called it a salvation suit) and our salvation in Christ, are very much alike. The astronaut needs this suit, this equipment, in order to survive his conditions; to LIVE. We, as people, need God's  Holy Spirit to give us His life, seal us, and prepare us for heaven ~ our new home. In reflecting on this, just as the astronaut deals with "atmospheric pressures" we as Christians deal with the "pressures of life." We need to have the strength and power (His very breath in us) of God to not only manage this life, but to be over-comers in this life. Thank God for His Holy Spirit in us! We are suited not only for this earth, but for heaven! [If you have not yet been "sealed," give your life to Jesus today, and let Him live His life through you.]       (photo is taken from wired.com)

I don't know if you have ever done a word study on "grace" but the Bible has much to say on the subject. According to biblegateway.com, there are 159 references to "grace" in the Bible (KJV). Thirty-seven of them are  from the Old Testament and the remainder are from the New Testament. God has always been a God of grace. He never changes. His ways of dealing with man have changed, according to covenant. We who are born again and live under the New Covenant have had true grace revealed to us in the person of Jesus Christ. The Word says that he is "full of grace and truth." In Jesus, the grace of God has been fully revealed. His goodness has been fully revealed. His love for us has been fully revealed. And the covenant keeping does not even depend upon us...Jesus is the covenant keeper! Thank you Lord!

One of the best books I've ever read is "The War is Over" by Andrew Wommack. I would say the overriding message in the book is that God is not mad at you. So many people go around with the attitude that God is up there just waiting for them to screw up, and that He is waiting to punish them. This is one of the greatest lies, even in the churches today. He also talks about how "Jesus paid for ALL sin." That includes the sin of the whole world; people who have not yet come to Jesus. He talks about the fact that nobody will go to hell because of their sin. They will only go to hell for not accepting the payment for their sin. Jesus paid for all of it. His payment was more than enough!

I have just been listening to a report on a study that was conducted on 'what prayer does to your brain.' In part it was stated that prayer helps to lessen pain. It causes us to forget about ourselves and focus on others. It talks about the limbic system in our brains, which even reptiles have. This is the part of the brain that produces negative emotions. Prayer turns off the limbic system, according to the study! Pretty amazing, huh?

If you'd like to learn more, the following is a link to the source of the study.

As I sit here today, I am so thankful for the NEW Covenant. Because of the New Covenant we don't have to choose one of our best animals, symbolically place all of our sins on that animal and bring it to a priest to be sacrificed. Even then, there was always that reminder of sin. I can't even imagine living that way.
Jesus, our sin-bearer, took all of the punishment that we deserved. His shed blood didn't just "cover" our sin, but completely removed it. The Bible says that there should be no more remembrance of sin. Praise God for his grace!
And as we take communion, we can reflect on this truth..."This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in REMEMBRANCE OF ME". He now wants us to remember Him instead of sin. Isn't that wonderful and freeing?

As Christians, sometimes we forget who we really are. I was reading 2 Peter 1 today, and discovered verse 9, which says, "For he who lacks these things is short-sighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins." What a powerful verse of scripture! So, when the devil comes at you with accusations, just remind him that those sins don't exist anymore!!

To understand what God thinks of you, and why, will radically change the way you think about God. These truths will heal your heart as you will find that you can solidly hope in the One who died and rose again for you. Courage and confidence are the result of Jesus' healing grace and the "good news" found in the gospel. The transforming love of God has been given to us unconditionally and it reveals God's heart toward us. Christ died for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). This is a powerful foundational truth.
Even as Christians, sometimes "old things" try to creep in and crowd our thinking. I was experiencing some of that last night. You and I need to remember that, in Christ, "old things" have passed away; behold all things have become new! We are new creatures in Christ. We stand in His righteousness!
